UK weather maps show foggy start to the day leading to bright and sunny spells. How cold will Halloween be?

Many parts of the UK woke up to thick fog that lead to some tricky driving conditions and a yellow fog warning from the Met Office that ended at 10am. Some of this fog is still lifting in many places but overall it will be a bright, dry and sunny day. Halloween looks set to have similar weather too. Does this mean no storm this weekend?

Friday is off to a murky and foggy start for many, with visibility dropping below 100 metres at times particularly over East Anglia, central England and parts of Wales this morning.

The fog is slowly beginning to thin and lift over most spots but in some rural spots in eastern England, it may not clear until later this afternoon.

Once this fog does clear, the weather should take quite a drastic change as skies become bluer and brighter sunnier spells become more frequent.

One exception to this will be the far North West where a keen onshore breeze continues to turn things quite cloudy and showery.

There will be potential for some showery spots as well over Northern Ireland and the Northern Scottish Isles.

Thanks to the fine and dry weather, temperatures should hold up …….
