If you’re not a fan of the heat, this weekend bring good news as temperatures are finally expected to dip to more seasonal levels, especially for northern parts of the UK. Conditions could be drizzly in places, but most places should still be able to enjoy dry and sunny weather. Is the summer heat over?

The weather has been pleasant this morning for most of the UK, as largely dry and clear conditions prevail but with a cooler feel in the air. The fresher conditions are thanks to a northerly breeze that has introduced cooler air into our weather regime, helping to end the seemingly never-ending UK heatwave.

Cloudier skies with some rain back on the forecast

This northerly breeze also brought lots of cloud to much of Scotland this morning. These cloudier skies have also extended over northern England and will continue developing through the day into parts of the Midlands and Central England.
