High pressure continues to dominate the UK’s weather, bringing warm, sunny days and largely clear skies this week. With temperatures expected to remain above the July average throughout the week, could another heatwave be on the horizon as summer conditions persist?
The working week begins with widespread sunshine and dry conditions for much of the UK, thanks to a dominant area of high pressure. A few scattered light showers are possible across northern Scotland and Northern Ireland during the morning.
These will gradually fade through the afternoon, leaving behind largely sunny and settled weather across most areas. The best of sunshine will be across southern Scotland, Wales, and England today.
Warm and sunny weather is likely to dominate the UK this week.Temperatures will remain above average for the time of year across much of the southern UK this week. Across England and Wales, daytime highs will widely reach 23–24 °C, with a few locations climbing to around 25 °C.
Further north, Scotland and Northern Ireland will be cooler, with temperatures generally ranging between 16 and 19 °C, although southern Scotland could see highs of up to 23 °C during the afternoon.

Meanwhile, across the eastern coasts, with moisture feeding from the North Sea, daytime temperatures will remain colder. Widely 20-21 °C can be expected today across the North Sea coasts on Monday.
