After a humid morning, the weather is expected to turn fresher overnight, widely across the country. Clouds will shift further southwards and hence clear up across the southeastern UK. Meanwhile, scattered showers will continue through the north.

Scattered showers are likely to continue across the western coasts as well during the night. However, a high-pressure ridge is likely to extend towards the country, which will calm the winds.
Alternating patterns of highs and lows continue across the UK this week.Daytime highs of 20-22 °C can be expected across the southeast, where bands of rain are prevailing. Meanwhile, 19-20 °C can be expected across the southwest and 16-17 °C across Scotland and Northern Ireland.
The low-pressure system across the north is moving away with its frontal bands, paving the way for the high-pressure ridge. By later tonight, rain will ease across the north and the west. While the south may get a dry night, cloudy skies will clear by early Wednesday.
Clearing skies will bring a reduction in humidity. Compared to the last few nights, tonight will be widely fresh, with temperatures in the low-mid teens, even single-digit in remote locations.
