Britain’s latest heatwave is set to intensify again this week, with temperatures climbing back above 32°C as widespread sunshine continues. While a few isolated thunderstorms are possible, many areas will remain hot, dry and well above average for several more days.

Britain’s third heatwave of the summer is showing little sign of ending, with temperatures set to climb back above 32°C as hot and settled weather continues across much of the country.

Monday marks the ninth consecutive day that somewhere in the UK has recorded temperatures of at least 30°C, underlining just how persistent this latest spell of summer weather has become.

The rest of Monday afternoon will remain dry, sunny and very warm for most areas, although brisk easterly winds across Wales and southern England will continue to elevate the wildfire risk.

There is also a small chance of isolated thunderstorms developing across southwest England and the Channel Islands later in the day, with that risk continuing overnight.

Elsewhere, it will stay dry with long spells
