Temperatures expected to exceed heatwave thresholds this week as another UK heatwave looms

Despite some welcomed rain this weekend, many places particularly in the South of England remain very dry and the forecast suggest that rain will continue to be quite rare this incoming week. As concerns of a fourth heatwave also grow, what can you expect this week?

The weekend brought some much needed rain to the UK, particularly over Scotland and Northern Ireland and Northern England where a weak weather front passed through on Saturday and Sunday.

Some cloud in the sky this morning but plenty of sunny spells expected

This morning, some showers persist over western areas, namely of Scotland and Northwest England, extending also to parts of Northern Ireland.

Meanwhile sunshine and partly cloudy skies greeted those in more eastern and southern areas today, with very few showers filtering through.

Through the course of the morning and afternoon, most showers will gradually ease and become far and few in between, resulting in yet another dry day for the UK. Plenty of sunny spells as well to be enjoyed by most this Monday.

Temperatures comfortably in the mid to high 20s in England and Wales today

Temperatures will be rising today by one or two degrees. Highs will reach between 22-24°C over most of England and Wales, rising to 26°C in in London and the surrounding area.
