The UK has seen a modest change in weather this weekend as a weak weather front pushing south across the UK has brought some much-needed rain to places, particularly in the north-west. Forecasts models suggest this is likely to change next week as concerns of another heatwave and a continuation of the prolonged dry spell grow. How hot will it be?
A weak weather front has now arrived to places in the South of the UK, brining cloudier skies and a fresher feel compared to yesterday.
Rain on the forecast this afternoonAs such, expect today to be another cool day for most of the UK with cloudy or partly cloudy skies widespread. Scattered showers will develop in some areas, some of which could become locally heavy and perhaps thundery during the afternoon.
South East is unlikely to receive enough rain to offset the dry conditions Rainfall totals across the South East are expected to remain fairly modest, meaning many places could see only brief showers while others receive very little rain at all.

The short-lived nature of this wet spell is therefore unlikely to make much difference to the ongoing and prolonged dry spell.
Ground conditions remain very dry after weeks of limited rainfall, meaning any showers will struggle to replenish moisture levels significantly.
