UK weather: Temperatures to hit 35°C in fourth heatwave of the year – here’s when it will end

The UK is bracing for its fourth heatwave of the summer, with temperatures expected to soar to 35°C by midweek. However, while the hottest weather is only just arriving, forecasts already reveal when fresher conditions will begin to replace the intense heat.

Another spell of hot summer weather is set to grip much of the UK this week, with temperatures climbing rapidly through Tuesday before peaking at around 35°C on Wednesday.

High pressure centred to the south of the UK will continue drawing increasingly warm air northwards, bringing widespread sunshine and rising temperatures across England and Wales.

It marks what is expected to become the fourth heatwave of the year for parts of England, although the hottest conditions will once again be concentrated across the south and east.

While much of the country enjoys another taste of summer, the heat is expected to be relatively short-lived.

Wednesday brings the hottest weather

The warm-up begins in earnest on Tuesday, when temperatures will widely reach the high 20s across England and Wales, with 30°C possible in the southeast beneath long spells of sunshine.

By Wednesday, the heat will intensify further. Forecasts indicate temperatures could reach 35°C across southeast England, with many other parts of central and southern England exceeding 30°C.
