Last weekend brought a few sunny breaks amid the clouds and heavy rain, though temperatures dipped slightly, especially overnight and in the early morning. However, a shift in the weather pattern is on the way. So, what’s the first week of November going to be like?

A mild start to the new working week this morning, with temperatures in the double digits across much of the country. This mild spell comes as two weather fronts sweep quickly across the UK, both linked to a deep Atlantic low-pressure system, the remnants of Ex-Hurricane Melissa, slowly making its way towards us.
As these fronts move through, expect grey skies and widespread showers across England, Scotland, and Northern Ireland.
Western areas to receive the most rain today Hurricane Melissa was a category 5 hurricane that made landfall in Jamaica last week, with sustained winds of 185 mph. Now moving over cooler North Atlantic waters as a typical mid-latitude low pressure system, it is expected to blend with other low pressure systems to help continue unsettled weather into next week.
