Is the UK weather about to take a turn? Deep low pressure systems to bring stormy weather next week
Earlier this week, the Environment Agency declared Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Somerset, East Sussex and West Sussex to be under severe drought following month of low rainfall.
The announcement came after several reservoirs continue to be at low reservoir levels, including Wimbleball Reservoir on Exmoor which is at just 14.9% capacity, while Ardingly is 19.4% full.
Not only this but despite being mid-way through October, there still hasn’t been a named storm yet. Usually, the jet stream frequently sits above the UK, pushing low pressure systems to our western shores, brining coastal gales and heavy precipitation.
