A massive waterspout forms over a reservoir in China, appearing to connect the water with the clouds

A massive rotating column appeared over a reservoir in Yunfu, China, taking onlookers by surprise. For several minutes, the water and clouds appeared to be connected.

First, a funnel appeared beneath the clouds, and seconds later, a massive column began to take shape over the water. The scene stunned onlookers in Yunfu, southern China, where a waterspout grew large enough to dominate the entire landscape.

From a distance, it looked like a tube connecting the water’s surface directly to the sky, while a cloud of spray swirled around its base. The phenomenon was captured on video, revealing one of the most spectacular weather events that can develop over large bodies of water.
