The Atlantic weather fronts carrying the much-awaited bands of rain are forecast to sweep through the country from the west, bringing relief from the heat of the scorching sun for the weekend. However, the relief is mostly for the north and west, while the south will continue with the pleasant sunny weather.
Weather fronts carrying rain will approach the UK from the west today.While the clouds linger across northern and western Scotland today, the south will enjoy the best of sunshine. Temperatures will remain around the average values for this time of the year.
Daytime highs of 27-29 °C can be expected across central and southern England today. Across the north, 19-20 °C can be expected, with Northern Ireland temperatures peaking around 22 °C today.
