The UK is bracing for a wet and windy end to the week as the remnants of Ex-Hurricane Humberto are set to arrive on Friday, bringing persistent rain, gusty winds, and the potential for disruption across northern and western regions.

Hurricane Humberto, the third named hurricane of the 2025 Atlantic season, formed over the central Atlantic earlier this month. The system developed from a low-pressure trough interacting with warm sea surface temperatures exceeding 28°C, providing the energy needed for rapid intensification. Favourable upper-level conditions, including low wind shear and abundant moisture, allowed Humberto to strengthen into a major Category 4 hurricane, with sustained winds exceeding 210 km/h.

The storm caused its most severe impacts over Bermuda, producing damaging winds, heavy rainfall, and large swells that affected coastal areas.
